Barbican Foyers & Library Corners

A brutalist hush filled with hidden pages and passing strangers.

By day, a concrete citadel; by night, a softly glowing warren of sofas, tables and power sockets open until around 23:00. You can tuck yourself into a corner with a laptop while orchestras warm up behind distant doors, or draft emails beneath hanging plants as filmgoers drift past. It's less shh-library, more nocturnal living room for the city's bookish night birds.

There's a version of the Lark who could tell you what to do before this, and where to go after. She plans evenings around feelings, not postcodes.
