EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney)
A dark cinema reborn as a temple of Afro-futurist dreams.
Occupying a restored 1930s cinema, EartH is a brutalist cathedral for genre-defying sound. Ethio-jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke christened its stage and since then African artists like Songhoy Blues, Omah Lay and Petite Noir have made it their London home. Afrofuturist, Afro-Latino and Afro-European artists fill its cavernous hall with new histories and cosmic polyrhythms – a place where the future of the African diaspora is imagined in sound.
