Mudchute Park & Farm
Here the skyscrapers watch sheep graze without comment.
Spread across 32 acres on the Isle of Dogs, Mudchute is one of the UK's largest urban farms. Tower Hamlets Council describes it as a community charity with a working farm, stables and nursery, open every day and free to visit. The fields roll out beneath Canary Wharf's skyline, with llamas, cows and sheep meandering through paddocks and riding lessons running in the arena. Pack a flask, wander the nature trails and feel the weird joy of hearing roosters crow against glass towers.
